This is the 1 1/4" width model. For the 1 1/2" width click here

This is an extreme belt. It is .37" thick and exceptionally stiff. It is made of 20 oz. weight leather and has an internal steel core insert resulting in the strongest belt you will ever strap around your waist.

The steel core belt does require some break in when buckling due to the thickness. When new it will require some effort to buckle and place through the keeper. The belt will break in after a few weeks and this will no longer be an issue.

If you are not in need of a steel reinforced belt, but are looking for a super sturdy, strong and durable belt that does not require a break-in period we recommend that you take a look at our Xtreme Belt. It is .23 to .26" thick and exceedingly durable. You can see it here: HANKS XTREME BELT

Please continue reading for more information about the Steel Core Belt:

Hanks CCW Steel Core Gun belt is like nothing else on the market. If you're the type of person who simply likes to buy the best and never have to look back this is the belt for you. Our Steel Core Belt is now available in a slightly narrower 1 1/4" width. The only 1 1/4" width Steel Core belt on the market that we know of.

The Steel Core Belt is a tri-layer belt made of two layers of USA steer hide harness leather with a steel core inserted into the middle. This belt will hold more than you could ever carry. At 20 oz. we believe this is the thickest and strongest belt on the market today. As a test, we actually parked a Jeep on it and it did not give way.

Made right here in the USA by Master Belt Makers the Steel Core Belt is constructed using an intense and complicated process with the end result being well worth the effort. Once finished it is comfortable and hardly noticeable other than the fact that your gear will be more secure than ever.

To make sure nothing is left to chance we use our super rugged roller buckle. It makes tightening this belt down a breeze and reduces wear on the tongue as you take your belt on and off. The Chicago screw construction holds it all together and makes changing your buckle very easy. Screws are the way to go as snaps eventually wear out and are not user fixable.

Harness leather is some of the toughest leather available. Some companies use softer leather to make the belt easier to assemble but softer leathers may start to wrinkle over time and break down. Just one layer of our 10 oz. leather is far stronger than any department store belt. Imagine two of them combined with a steel insert. You have to experience this belt to appreciate it.

Additional Sizing Help

When sizing your Hanks Belt for concealed carry several factors will determine the size you need to purchase. Your firearm, holster, if you carry IWB or OWB, and any accessories you carry on your belt will affect the size you need to order. For the best fit, we recommend measuring a current belt that fits you well the way you will be using it.

For easy instructions click on the sizing link on the page above the size selection area and follow the instructions. Remember...if you buy your pant size the belt will be too small and will not fit.

Excellant customer support

Previously I ordered and have used for over a year now one of Hank's double layer belts. That belt is of excellent quality and value. Base on that experience I ordered the steel core belt. When I received the belt it was marked size 42 the same as the first belt I purchased, however this belt was three inches shorter. The back side of the belt had marks on it as if their hole punch was improperly aligned . . When I called them they were very pleasant and were more than willing to correct the problem. They blamed the issues on the fact that there is no uniformity from one manufacture to another. Today I received the replacement belt in a size 44, it fits perfectly and I am very satisfied.

Not the quailty that I expected from Hanks Belts

Previously I ordered and have used for over a year now one of Hank's double layer belts. That belt is of excellent quality and value. Base on that experience I ordered the steel core belt. When I received the belt it was marked size 42 the same as the first belt I purchased, however this belt was three inches shorter. The back side of the belt had marks on it as if their hole punch was improperly aligned . The finish on the belt it self is just plain brown with no character. When I called them they were very pleasant and were more than willing to correct the problem. They blamed the issues on the fact that there is no uniformity from one manufacture to another. I would think that they would have more quality control.

Hanks Belts

Hi Jerold, Thanks for the review and glad our support team got you taken care of. The marks should not have been on the back. This leather is much different than the Double Layer Belt you purchased which is much more in cost than this one due to the hand burnished leather. This belt is made with a different hide for rugged use. The Premier belt you purchased is an Escalade this one is a 1 ton pickup :) Thanks again and we are here if you need any more help.

100% PERFECT FIT:

MEASURE A BELT YOU ARE CURRENTLY WEARING

This is super easy to do, only takes a few minutes, and virtually guarantees a perfect fit. Just follow the below instructions and make sure the belt you measure fits you well the way you will be using it with any gear attached.

Lay out your belt on a smooth flat surface. It is probably slightly curved but don't worry about that. Just measure through the curve.

Place a tape measure where the buckle meets the leather (do not include buckle length in measurement) and measure, in inches, to the hole you currently use to buckle your belt:

Scroll down to the description on the page and click on the tab that says "Additional
Sizing Help" (on mobile phones scroll down under the description, and you will see the
tab)

Now scroll down to the belt sizing chart and match the measurement you got above with the number in the "Measurement to the 4th Hole" column in the chart.

If you are between measurements, size up one unless you plan on losing weight in which case you should size down one.

For example, if you measured 37" to the hole you currently use you should purchase a 38" belt size. If you measured 38" you should purchase a 40" belt size.

Note that our belts are made by hand and variances in measurements can occur. Variances are slight, though, and will not affect the sizing.

That's it! Select your size, double check it is correct on the add to cart button, and add to cart.

And just to be safe, Hanks Belts offers free exchanges if needed, so you never have to worry about additional cost if you do order an incorrect size.
