The Yellowstone by Hanks looks like it’s already lived a few hard years, and that’s exactly the point. Built from shrunken American bison leather, each belt reveals deep grain, bold texture, and natural variation that can’t be duplicated. No two hides are the same, and no two belts ever will be.
This is the kind of belt you notice before you know why. The shrinking process tightens the leather’s grain, pulling out depth and character while increasing durability. Brown accent stitching runs clean and deliberate, adding contrast without flash, and the antique copper buckle finishes the belt with a worn-in, earned look that feels right at home out West.
As it’s worn, the leather softens, darkens, and develops a patina that reflects the miles you put into it, not the years on the calendar. This was the 3rd Belt that I have purchased from Hank’s. I think the others were called “Harness leather”?. They are really study and I use them as a gun belt. I needed another belt for every day use and purchase the Yellowstone as soon as I saw it. It is good looking and comfortable. My only complaint is that it not near as stiff and rugged as the first two.

First of all, it is a beautiful belt. The shrunken bison leather makes an impression and the buckle is a perfect compliment to the belt's finish. It's a heavy belt and will outlast me.
I followed the website's instruction and ordered a size up. However, based on my personal preference, I should have sized down. I don't like a lot of excess leather on the tag end, once buckled.
Buyers should be aware that there will be color transfer from the belt to the waistband of your pants. I'm assuming that this will diminish after wearing the belt for a while. I wear the belt daily. So far, I've been able to wash it out of my jeans.

Good belt after the first week, really like the thickness, quality and texture of the belt. Much better than the cheap garbage you find in any department stores. Expensive, but you have to pay for quality. Not giving it 5 stars because I have a premium leather wallet and this is not the same quality as that and that is what i expected. It is still very good, just not as good as i thought for the price i paid.

Like the belt but sizing guide is a little off. Guide suggested size 40 (I’m between 38-40). 40 is a bit larger than expected. (I’m at 4th hole in the belt). I think I should have ordered the 38.

I had issues with delivery, not on Hanks! Shipped out quickly from New York but went to Sacramento instead of Kentucky. It criss-crossed the entire country and took about 11 or 12 days!

For the money , the belt doesn’t seem worth the it per the quality of materials. Also the belt I received wasn’t burnished around the edges, as I understand certain leather are harder to burnish, for the price I expect that to be part of the cost.

sizing chart was 100% correct. I wear 34 " waist jeans so I ordered a size 38. I used the measurement to the hole in use on my old belt, the chart said order a size 38 so I did, It fits perfectly.

It's a nice alternative to the Montana Bison Belt. It's a great belt, exactly as advertised. I wear size 34 waist pants and I ordered the size 36 belt, which is the correct fit. I now own like 5 Hank's belts and I've always been totally satisfied.
